Shalom u'Vrachah!
I acknowledge receipt of your letter from the 21st of Tammuz. As we come from the days of redemption, Yud-Beis–Yud-Gimmel Tammuz—the redemption of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe, leader of Israel—which is also our redemption. Surely you know about the self-sacrificing work of the one whose celebration and redemption we mark: a holy effort in spreading Torah, both its revealed aspects and Chassidus, always increasing and advancing.
The hope is that you will learn an appropriate lesson from these days, with action being primary—to increase diligence and persistence in Torah study, both in nigleh (the revealed part) and Chassidus. And it is understood that this must be—as our Sages teach—in a way that learning leads to action: beautifying mitzvah observance. We are assured that "one who comes to purify is assisted."
You surely know about the three daily study portions that are equal for every soul: Chumash, Tehillim, and Tanya—and you observe them; at the very least, do so from now on.
With blessing for good news in all mentioned above.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches us to draw inspiration from the days of redemption by increasing our Torah study—both revealed and Chassidus—and ensuring our learning leads to enhanced mitzvah observance and practical action.
