I was pleased to receive regards from you through the people of Kfar Chabad and was happy to hear from them about the assistance you are giving them regarding the village and Chabad institutions. However, this did not surprise me, knowing your background, but of course it is pleasant to hear it once again and explicitly.

I am strongly confident that you will not only continue in this direction but will also add even more, as our Sages of blessed memory instruct: "Ma'alin bakodesh" (we ascend in holiness), and every commandment of Torah is also an empowerment.

And according to the emphasis of our Rebbe the Alter Rebbe, author of Tanya and Shulchan Aruch—this year being the one hundred fiftieth anniversary of his passing—regarding Divine Providence and utilizing all the strengths granted by the higher Providence, each according to their measure, it is my hope that you will surely utilize all your influence in fulfilling the primary mission of every Jew, as our Sages say: "I was created only to serve my Creator"—in spreading traditional Judaism in general and assisting the activities of Chabad members in Eretz HaKodesh specifically.

As we stand in the month of redemption—the redemption of our Rebbe the Alter Rebbe on its nineteenth day—I extend to you and all yours my heartfelt wishes for redemption from all matters that disturb both materially and spiritually, to serve Hashem with joy and gladness of heart.
