Shalom u'Vrachah!
In response to your letter from the 27th of Tammuz. At an auspicious time you will be mentioned at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal, for the fulfillment of your heart's desires for good.
It is certainly unnecessary to elaborate that one's study should be with consistency and diligence both in the revealed part of Torah and in its inner dimension—Chassidus—which, aside from being a commandment from Hashem, is also a channel and vessel for receiving Hashem's blessing in fulfilling your heart's desires for good. We have been assured: "A person sanctifies himself a little below—they sanctify him greatly above."
Regarding your question about Chitas (Chumash, Tehillim, Tanya) study: if sometimes you learn them at night—on which night should you make up what was missed during the day? As we heard from my father-in-law, the Rebbe, leader of Israel: it is the night that follows. However, concerning Tehillim specifically, our custom is not to recite it from sunset until midnight (except on Yom Kippur and similar occasions).
Blessings for good news in all the above.
Summary
The Rebbe emphasizes that diligent Torah study in both Nigleh and Chassidus brings blessings and fulfillment of one’s heartfelt requests. When making up missed Chitas study at night, it should be done on the following night—except for Tehillim between sunset and midnight.
