מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבם מכ"א תמוז עם המצורף אליו,
בו כותבים אודות תכנית עבודתם להיות רוח שפלים לעודדם וכו',
ובודאי הנקודה הפנימית לחזק בין העולם באה"ק ת"ו עניני היהדות המסורתית ולהפיצה ולרוממה, שהרי עלו לארץ אשר עיני ה' אלקיך בה מראשית השנה ועד אחרית שנה.
ויהי רצון אשר יצליחו בפעולות האמורות להיטיב לבני ישראל בגשם וברוח, אשר יחדיו יהלכון, שהרי ישראל גוי אחד הם בארץ, וכפירוש רבנו הזקן בעל התניא והשו"ע, שממשיכים האחדות גם בעניני ארץ.
והרי זקוקים לעבודה זו במיוחד בימים אלו בין המצרים, שצריך להיות התקון לעומת המעוות, תמורת שנאת חנם, אהבת חנם.
ובפרט ע"פ המבואר בתורת החסידות מתחיל מהבעש"ט ורבנו הזקן ותלמידיהם, גודל ענין דאהבת ישראל.

The administration of Agudas "Tikvas Chaim" in the holy city of Jerusalem, may it be rebuilt and established, may Hashem be upon them for life—Shalom u'Vrachah!
I hereby acknowledge receipt of your letter from the 21st of Tammuz with its enclosure, in which you write about your work plan to be a spirit for those who are lowly to encourage them, etc. Certainly, the inner point is to strengthen among the people in Eretz HaKodesh matters of traditional Judaism and to spread and uplift it, for you have ascended to the land about which it is said: 'the eyes of Hashem your G‑d are upon it from the beginning of the year until year's end.'
May it be His will that you succeed in these activities to benefit the Jewish people both materially and spiritually, which go hand in hand, since Israel is one nation in the land—as explained by our master, the Alter Rebbe, author of Tanya and Shulchan Aruch—that this unity extends even into matters of the land.
This work is especially needed during these days of Bein HaMetzarim (the Three Weeks), when there must be repair corresponding to what was damaged; instead of baseless hatred—baseless love. This is particularly so according to what is explained in Chassidus beginning with the Baal Shem Tov and the Alter Rebbe and their students—the great importance of Ahavas Yisrael.
