Haraha"g Haraha"ch iy"a nu"n oseik b'tzt"z Ephraim Eliezer HaKohen

Shalom u'Vrachah!

I received your letter from the 25th of Adar Rishon with its enclosure in due time. Regarding those who say that Adar Rishon is primary and that the world was created in Nissan, the above-mentioned day is a day of Bereishis (beginning). The response was delayed because you wrote that you planned to be here and meet around Rosh Chodesh Adar Sheni.

In any case, may it be G‑d's will that your situation continues to improve in health and goodness—especially since this has already begun. We are now in a month when we increase in joy—joy according to Torah—which is itself service of Hashem. As Rambam writes: one's body must be whole and strong, etc., for it is impossible to understand (even) if one limb hurts (Hilchos Deos ch. 3), and pain is less than illness (Shabbos 12a). And since in the month of Adar "it is turned around; to joy," so too may your situation be transformed as Rambam says: whole and strong.

With honor and blessing for good news in all mentioned above and for a joyous Purim.

* In such cases it is obvious that adding a 30th day at the end of the month does not change the status of the preceding days.

Summary

The Rebbe teaches that true joy—especially during Adar—must be rooted in Torah and accompanied by physical health. Maintaining both spiritual happiness and bodily strength enables proper service of Hashem and transforms challenges into blessings.
