צו דער געלעגענהייט פון דער היי יאריקער חגיגה, וואס באצייכענט דעם זעכציג יעהריגען יובילייאום פון דער גרינדונג פון דער ישיבה "תומכי-תמימים" אין ליובאוויטש און דעם אכצען יעהריגען יובילייאום פון איר איבערזידלונג אין אמעריקא.
באגריס איך הארציג די חשובע עסקנים, עהרן-געסט געסט און פארזאמלטע, ווי אויך אלע פריינד פון ישיבת תומכי-תמימים באשר הם שם, און ווינש זיי הצלחה מרובה און זייער ארבעט פאר דער ישיבה וואס בריינגט הצלחה מרובה אויך אין זייערע אייגענע ענינים.
די היי-יאהריגע חגיגה קומט פאר אין דער וואך און ערב דער הסתלקות (כ"ד טבת) פון דעם אלטען רבי'ן בעל התניא והשלחן ערוך, דער גרינדער פון חב"ד-שיטה, וועלכע באלעבט די ליובאוויטשער ישיבות, זייער הנהלה, ראשי-ישיבות, משפיעים און תלמידים - שיחיו.
איז א דבר בעתו צו דערמאנען דעם בארימטען ווארט פון אלטען רבי'ן: "אידישע גשמיות איז רוחניות; דער אויבערשטער גיט אונז גשמיות מיר זאלען דערפון מאכען רוחניות".
- דאס איז דאך אויך דער ענין פון זבולון און יששכר, פון לומדי-תורה און תומכי-תורה, אז די וועלכע שטיצען די לומדי -תורה האבען א חלק אין דעם לימוד התורה. - אייגענטלעך זיינען ביידע זאכען איינגעשלאסען אין דעם נאמען פון דער ליובאוויטשער ישיבה - תומכי-תמימים, וואס אין דעם איז פאראן די תלמידים תמימים לומדי-תורה און די תומכי- תמימים, די וועלכע האלטען אויף די ישיבה בגופם ובממונם. -
איז בשעת דער אויבערשטער גיט א אידען גשמיות (פרנסה) און ער ניצט עס אויס אויף עניני מצוות בכלל און לימוד התורה בפרט, וואס תלמוד-תורה איז שקול כנגד כולם, ער באשטייערט זיך, גיט צדקה, צו מוסדות התורה, וואס צדקה איז אויך שקול כנגד כל המצוות, מאכט ער פון גשמיות - רוחניות.
און וויבאלד אז אלע ענינים פון קדושה דארפען גיין מחיל אל חיל ומעלין בקדש, דארף מען מאכען וואס מער רוחניות פון די גשמיות, במילא ווערט מקוים די ברכה עשר בשביל שתתעשר, אלץ מער גשמיות גיט דער אויבעשטער, און דאן קען מען מאכען נאך מער רוחניות, און אזוי גייט מען כסדר מחיל אל חיל. ניט נאר אין כמות נאר אויך אין איכות. דורכדעם גיט מען אויך דער ישיבה די מעגליכקייט גיין שנעלער מחיל אל חיל, אריינצונעמען נאך און נאך תלמידים און כסדר פארבעסערען דעם מצב הגשמי והרוחני אין אלע פרטים.
איך האף, אז אלע פריינט פון דער ישיבה תומכי-תמימים ליובאוויטש וועלען באווירקט ווערען אין דעם אויבנדערמאנטען זין; די וועלכע האבען זיך שוין בייגעשטייערט וועלען מוסיף זיין, און די וועלכע וועלען זיך ביישטייערען אונטערן איינדרוק פון דער חגיגה וועלען עס טאן אין דער גרעסטער מאס, און אזוי ארום ממשיך זיין אויף זיך און זייערע בני-בית שיחיו ברכות השם יתברך אויך אין אן אופן פון מוסיף והולך מחיל אל חיל אין גשמיות און אין רוחניות.

To all participants in the annual United States celebration of the Central Yeshivos "Tomchei Temimim" Lubavitch — may Hashem be upon them for life — greetings and blessings!
On the occasion of this year's celebration, which marks the sixtieth anniversary of the founding of the Tomchei Temimim Yeshivah in Lubavitch and the eighteenth anniversary of its relocation to America, I warmly greet the esteemed activists, honored guests and attendees, as well as all friends of Yeshivas Tomchei Temimim wherever they may be. I wish them abundant success in their work for the yeshivah, which brings great success also in their own personal matters.
This year's celebration takes place during the week and on the eve of the yahrzeit (24 Teves) of the Alter Rebbe, author of Tanya and Shulchan Aruch, founder of Chabad philosophy. His spirit animates the Lubavitcher yeshivos — their administration, heads of yeshivos, mashpi'im and students — may they live. It is therefore timely to recall the famous saying of the Alter Rebbe: "Jewish materiality is spirituality; Hashem gives us materiality so that we may make it spiritual."
This is also reflected in the concept of Zevulun and Yissachar — those who study Torah and those who support Torah — that those who support Torah scholars have a share in Torah study. In fact, both aspects are included in the name of our Lubavitcher yeshivah — Tomchei Temimim — which includes both students (Temimim) who study Torah and supporters (Tomchei Temimim) who sustain the yeshivah with their bodies and resources.
When Hashem grants a Jew material means (livelihood) and he uses them for mitzvos in general and Torah study in particular — since Torah study is equal to all other mitzvos — by contributing tzedakah to Torah institutions (and tzedakah itself is also equal to all mitzvos), he transforms materiality into spirituality.
Since all matters of holiness must continually ascend from strength to strength (ma'alin bakodesh), one must strive to make even more spirituality from materiality. As a result, the blessing "tithe so that you will become wealthy" is fulfilled: Hashem grants ever more materiality so that one can create even more spirituality, thus progressing continuously from strength to strength — not only in quantity but also in quality.
Through this one also enables the yeshivah to advance more rapidly from strength to strength: accepting more and more students and constantly improving its material and spiritual state in every detail.
I hope that all friends of Yeshivas Tomchei Temimim Lubavitch will be inspired as mentioned above: those who have already contributed will increase their support; those who are moved by this celebration will contribute generously; thereby drawing down upon themselves and their families Hashem's blessings ever-increasingly from strength to strength both materially and spiritually.
