Yud-Tes Kislev as the Source of Year-Round Growth

The Rebbe notes surprise that the recipient did not mention the Yud-Tes Kislev farbrengen, emphasizing its importance as the Rosh Hashanah for Chassidus. He explains that inspiration from this day brings increased Torah and mitzvah observance throughout the year.

It is surprising that you did not mention anything about the farbrengen of the bright day of Yud-Tes Kislev. Since it is the Rosh Hashanah for learning Chassidus and for the ways of Chassidus, certainly the inspiration from it also leads to improvement and increase in matters of Torah and mitzvos throughout all days of the year. As is well known, there is a precision in calling it "Rosh" (head), and not merely "beginning," because the head includes the vitality of all limbs of the body and draws life into them—that is, into all days of the year. Surely you will fulfill this at the next opportunity.

Summary

Yud-Tes Kislev serves as a spiritual source for growth in Torah and mitzvos throughout the entire year, just as a head gives life to all parts of the body.
