א לאנגען וועג האבן די ליובאוויטשער ישיבות דורכגעמאכט, א וועג פול מיט גרויסע אויפטרייסלונגען און איבערלעבונגען. במשך פון די זעכציק שטורמישע יארן פון אויפטרייסלונג און גלות, האבן אירע גרינדער און אנפירער, כ"ק אדמו"ר (הרש"ב) און כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר - זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, די הנהלה, משפיעים, ראשי-ישיבות און תלמידים, מיט דער גרעסטער מסירות-נפש געטראגען דעם נר מצוה ותורה אור און מאור שבתורה און פארשפרייט די ליכטיקייט פון תורה און מצוות אין אלע וועגן, שטעט און לענדער וואו די השגחה עליונה האט זיי געפירט.
היי יאר פייערט די צענטראלע ישיבה "תומכי-תמימים", אין צוגאב צום זעכציק יעריגען יובילעאום פון איר גרינדונג אין ליובאוויטש, אויך איר אכצן-יעריגען יובילעאום דא אין לאנד - א גאלדענע קייט פון ניט-אונטערבראכענער טעטיקייט פאר תורה ויראת שמים.
א יובילעאום איז ניט סתם צו פארצייכענען א דאטום. ס'איז אן ארויספאדערונג צו מאכן א סך-הכל פון די דערגרייכונגען אין דער פארגאנגענער צייט - מיטן צוועק צו פארגרעסערן די דערגרייכונגען אין די קומענדיקע יארן.
אויב אין א תקופה פון הרת-עולם'דיקע געשעענישן, מיט אויסערגעווינלעכע שוועריקייטן און שטערונגען, האבן די ליובאוויטשער ישיבות ניט נאר געקענט עקזיסטירן, נאר אויך אויסברייטערן, אויסשפרייטען און פארצווייגען זיך, אין כמות און אין איכות, קען מען זיך פארשטעלן וואס מען וועט קענען דערגרייכען, אונטער בעסערע אומשטענדען.
אין דעם באשטייט טאקע די ארויספאדערונג און חשבון-הנפש וואס יעדער איינער, וועמען תורה אידישקייט איז טייער, דארף זיך אפגעבען אין צוזאמענהאנג מיט דער היי-יאהריגער חגיגה און דאפלטען יובילעאום.
אמת, אין פארלויף פון די לעצטע אכצן יאר האט די צענטראלע ישיבה "תומכי-תמימים" ליובאוויטש ב"ה שטארק אויפגעבליט און האט געלעגט איר שטעמפל אויפן אמעריקאנער אידישן לעבן. עס מוז אבער זיין מעלין בקודש, מוסיף והולך. מען טאר זיך ניט באפרידיגען מיט די דערגרייכונגען אין די פארגאנגענע יארן. מען מוז שטייגען און צוגעבען און ווידער אמאל צוגעבען און פארברייטערן. דאס איז אבער אפהענגיק און פאדערט די ברייטע באטייליקונג פון יעדען איינעם, וואס מוז אויך מעלה בקודש זיין מוסיף והולך. פארגרעסערן זיין שטיצע - אין געלט, און אין מיטארבעט פאר די ישיבות תומכי-תמימים בכלל.
און דער אויבערשטער זאגט דאך צו: כל המוסיף מוסיפין לו - אין וואס מען נויטיגט זיך בגשמיות וברוחניות.

Shalom u'Vrachah!
The annual celebration of the central Yeshivah "Tomchei Temimim" Lubavitch, which will take place G‑d willing on the 20th of Teves, 5718, marks this year the sixtieth anniversary since the founding of the Yeshivah "Tomchei Temimim" in Lubavitch. The Lubavitcher Yeshivos have traveled a long road—a path full of great upheavals and experiences. Throughout these sixty stormy years of turmoil and exile, its founders and leaders—our holy Rebbes (the Rashab) and my father-in-law the Rebbe—of blessed memory—along with the administration, mashpi'im, roshei yeshivah, and students—with utmost self-sacrifice carried the Ner Mitzvah v'Torah Or (the lamp of mitzvah and light of Torah) and the luminary within Torah itself, spreading the light of Torah and mitzvos in all places, cities, and countries where Divine Providence led them.
This year, in addition to marking sixty years since its founding in Lubavitch, the central Yeshivah "Tomchei Temimim" also celebrates its eighteenth anniversary here in this country—a golden chain of uninterrupted activity for Torah and fear of Heaven.
A jubilee is not merely to mark a date. It is a call to make an accounting of achievements in past times—with the goal to increase those achievements in coming years. If during a period filled with world-shaking events—marked by extraordinary difficulties and obstacles—the Lubavitcher Yeshivos not only managed to exist but also to expand, spread out, and branch out both quantitatively and qualitatively—one can imagine what can be achieved under better circumstances.
This is truly the challenge and soul-searching that everyone who cherishes Torah and Judaism must undertake in connection with this year's celebration and double jubilee.
It is true that over the past eighteen years the central Yeshivah "Tomchei Temimim" Lubavitch has flourished greatly with G‑d's help and has left its mark on American Jewish life. However, there must be continual elevation in holiness—increasing ever more. One must not be satisfied with past accomplishments; one must ascend further, add more again and again—and broaden even more.
However, this depends on—and demands—the broad participation of every individual who must also continually elevate himself in holiness—increasing ever more. He should expand his support—financially as well as through active involvement—for Tomchei Temimim Yeshivos as a whole.
And after all: The Alm-ghty says: Kol HaMosif Mosifin Lo (whoever increases is given even more)—in whatever one needs materially or spiritually.
