I received your letter with pleasure, bringing good news about your studies with bright faces in the holy book Tanya of our master the Alter Rebbe, of blessed memory, and your satisfaction from this class.

It is understood why all Jews are careful with their words to say "satisfaction of will" (sheviat ratzon) rather than "satisfaction of desire" (sheviat chefetz), because desire (chefetz) is the inner aspect of will (ratzon), which is always truly connected with Him—Hashem and His Torah—whereas will can change; sometimes it even needs to be compelled until one says "I want." Therefore, it is significant that even your will is satisfied—not just fulfilling G‑d's will superficially but also experiencing true satisfaction of will: performing a mitzvah—which is G‑d's will—in an enhanced manner, going above and beyond.

May it be G‑d's will that as required from each of us, you go from strength to strength; thus your measure of will shall also increase. As the Mishnah says: "Make your will like His will," and may you fulfill and satisfy even this measure by increasing classes and study sessions. Then the promise will be fulfilled: "Whoever adds, they add for him."

The Rebbe teaches that true satisfaction comes not only from fulfilling G‑d's will but from doing so with inner joy and ever-increasing dedication. By deepening our commitment to Torah study—especially Tanya—we elevate both our actions and our inner desire for holiness.
