Shalom u'Vrachah!
In response to your letter from the 21st of Sivan. I was pleased by what you wrote about beginning to prepare a detailed program regarding the days of the Festival of Redemption, Yud-Beis and Yud-Gimmel Tammuz, may it be successful. Certainly, you will involve all those who need to take action afterward in the discussion of the matter; this way there is greater assurance that they will fulfill their responsibilities. This is unlike those who overestimate their own worth—when they receive ready-made instructions, their assumption (der aflayg) is that things should be done differently and in another manner.
Regarding what you wrote about expenses—without a vow, I will encourage Anash to participate in half of the special fundraising campaign.
I am somewhat surprised by what you wrote that your plan is for the gathering to last at most two hours! What limits you in this? The delay in sending the corrected material for the journal is due to many preoccupations; as soon as possible it will be prepared and sent to you. Then it is worthwhile to print it immediately rather than postpone and print a double issue or similar.
Blessings for good news in all the above with joy and gladness of heart, and also for good news in your personal matters.
M. Schneersohn
P.S. Regarding what you wrote about parables in Chabad Chassidus—they are very few, and even those are not of the type found among maggidim and similar, meaning stories or narratives. Rather, they are like the parables found in Midrash and similar: "A parable for a king of flesh and blood," etc. In place of these, Chabad Chassidus utilizes and draws upon "mi-besari echezeh Eloka" (from my flesh I see G‑d)—to find spiritual matters within one's soul and its processes. The advantage is that the parable itself descends from the nimshal—from higher matters (see Tanya ch. 23). Of the few parables that can be found, an important portion are noted at the source from which they were taken, such as the parable about shofar blowing and so forth.
Summary
The Rebbe encourages thorough planning with broad involvement for communal events like Yud-Beis Tammuz celebrations. He highlights that Chabad uses few parables but focuses on internal spiritual analogies drawn from personal experience rather than external stories.
