ולפלא שכנראה נשמט מזכרונו פתגם אדמו"ר הצמח צדק בדיוק מאמר רז"ל התורה נתנה רשות לרופא לרפאות, ודייק לרפאות יש לו רשות, ולא ח"ו לפעול נמיכת רוח וכו' ובפרט שבתקופתנו זו שבכל יום מתחדשים טפולים חדשים בעניני רפואה, מוצאים סממני רפואה חדשים וכו', כנגד השכל הבריא הוא להגיד עתידות בדוגמת אלו שכותב, והלואי יהיו חזקים בבטחונם בבורא עולם ומנהיגו המשגיח על כאו"א בהשגחה פרטית, שבעתיד הקרוב יווכחו במוחש ששקר דברי הנ"ל, אף שמובן שצריכים לעשות איזה אחיזה בדרך הטבע וראה ג"כ קונטרס ומעין מאמר כ"ה בזה, ולכן יש להתענין גם בדיעטא צמחונית.
נהניתי במאד מזה שזוגתו תחי' דרשה לפני הנשים והשפיע זה גם על בריאותה כפשוטה, והרי גם זה ראי' היפך מדברי הרופא הנ"ל, והרי ישראל הם גוי אחד בארץ והטבה ברוחניות מוכרחה שתביא הטבה גם בגשמיות.

In response to your letter from the eve of Shavuos, the time of the giving of our Torah, in which you write about what you heard from the doctor and the impression it made on you and your wife, may she live.
It is surprising that you seem to have forgotten the saying of the Tzemach Tzedek who precisely explained our Sages' statement: "The Torah gave permission to the doctor to heal," emphasizing that permission is given to heal—not, Heaven forbid, to cause discouragement or lower spirits. Especially in our times when new medical treatments and remedies are discovered daily, it is against sound reason to make predictions like those you mention. May you both be strong in your trust in the Creator and Ruler of the world, Who watches over each individual with Divine Providence. In the near future you will see tangibly that those negative words were false. Of course, one must also take some natural measures—see also Kuntres Uma'ayan Maamar 25 on this—and therefore it is worthwhile to look into a vegetarian diet as well.
I was very pleased that your wife gave a talk before the women and that this had a positive effect even on her actual health. This too is evidence contrary to what the aforementioned doctor said. The Jewish people are one nation on earth; spiritual improvement must bring about physical improvement as well.
