Shalom u'Vrachah!

After a long pause, your letter was received—without indication of when it was written—in which you present the idea of traveling overseas regarding shidduchim matters, etc.

In my opinion—and it seems I have already told you this explicitly—the obstacle to shidduchim is that you become overly involved in matters that are entirely irrelevant. In addition to this is the fear of making a decision and finalizing it, since after that the matter is done. Based on this, it is unclear what benefit there would be in being in another country.

If you would decide once and for all that there is no perfection in the women's section just as there is no perfection in the men's section—since only the Creator is perfect—one must therefore focus on the main issues and not pay attention to trivialities. Had you done so already, you would have completed the matter of shidduchim long ago.

Even though your claim is correct that your current location is not suitable for finding [a match], still you have been here for several weeks... and have not decided; in my opinion this is due to what was mentioned above.

Practically speaking: if you decide to travel overseas, this will immediately cause you to lose focus from all the proposals in the United States—which is clearly contrary to the intention altogether. Since vacation days are approaching, they should be utilized as needed; meaning that any preparations or information that can be obtained by others should be done now through parents, relatives, friends, etc., and when you come here... decide accordingly based on what was said above. May Hashem guide you truly for good with revealed good together.

It is understood that all of the above relates to natural means; however, first and foremost there must be an increase in Torah and mitzvos activities—for after all Scripture says: U'MeHashem Isha Maskeles ("And from Hashem comes a wise wife").

With blessings for success in all of the above.

Summary

The Rebbe teaches that clarity and decisiveness are crucial in shidduchim. One should avoid distractions and perfectionism, focus on essentials both practically and spiritually, and trust that true success comes from Hashem through increased Torah and mitzvos.
