לאחרי שתיקתו הכי ארוכה נתקבל מכתבו מי"ג טבת, אף שגם ממנו אינו מובן סיבת השתיקה.
נעם לי לקרות בו איך שראה השגחה פרטית והתועלת הכי גדולה שהיתה מהיותו בחג הסוכות במאנטמארענסי שעלה בידו ביחד עם איזה מאנ"ש להוציא יקר מזולל וכו' ואין לך דבר גדול מזה וכמבואר בכ"מ, ומובן ג"כ מסוגית הש"ס (ב"מ פה, א) ואין להאריך בדבר הפשוט, ואשרי חלקו ושל כל אלו שהשתתפו בהאמור, ויה"ר שתקוים בהם הבטחת משנה מצוה גוררת מצוה שילכו מחיל אל חיל בפעולות המקרבות לבם של בני ישראל לאבינו שבשמים, ובטוח נותן התורה ומצוה המצות לשלם שכרם במדה כנגד מדה אלא שכ"פ ככה ברוב נחת חסידותי מכל יו"ח שיחיו ובפעולותיהם בבירור הניצוצות בכלל שזהו הענין דלהוציא יקר מזולל, וכמבואר בתורת החסידות כי תקותי חזקה שלא יסתפקו בהנעשה עד עתה ואז יתוסף גם בהצלחה נוסף על ההצלחה דעד עתה.
לפלא שלא כותב איך נצלו ימי הסגולה דחדש כסלו יו"ד י"ט כסלו וימי חנוכה שבודאי עשו בהנ"ל בימי סגולה אלו.

After your longest silence, your letter from the 13th of Teves was received, though even from it the reason for your silence is unclear. I was pleased to read how you saw Divine Providence and the greatest benefit that came from your being in Montmorency during Sukkos, where you and some of Anash succeeded together in extracting precious from worthless, etc. There is nothing greater than this, as explained in many places, and it is also understood from the Talmudic discussion (Bava Metzia 85a), and there is no need to elaborate on something so obvious. Fortunate is your lot and that of all those who participated in this matter. May it be G‑d's will that the Mishnah's promise be fulfilled for you: "One mitzvah leads to another mitzvah," so that you go from strength to strength in activities that bring the hearts of Jews closer to our Father in Heaven. The Giver of Torah and commandments surely rewards them measure for measure—may it be so with much chassidic satisfaction from all yuchin sheyichyu and their activities in clarifying sparks in general, which is the idea of extracting precious from worthless, as explained in Chassidus. My strong hope is that you will not be satisfied with what has been accomplished until now; then there will be added success beyond what has already been achieved.
It is surprising that you did not write how you utilized the auspicious days of Kislev—Yud Kislev, Yud Tes Kislev—and Chanukah days; surely these were used for the above-mentioned matters during these special days.
