Shalom u'Vrachah!

In connection with the day of hilulah—the yahrzeit of the passing of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzukal lehe nbagm zya, Yud Shevat, which is approaching—I wish to draw the attention of all branches of Agudas Nshei U'Bnos Chabad in general and each member in particular to a proper preparation for this day. This preparation should express itself according to the will of the Baal HaHilulah in intensified and expanded activity among Nshei U'Bnos Chabad specifically and Jewish women in general—work in matters of mitzvos and fear of Heaven. This is the greatest satisfaction and pleasure one can bring to the soul of the Baal HaHilulah. As he himself wrote at the time (after the passing of his father, my revered grandfather, the Rebbe Maharash zatzukal lehe nbagm zya): Ro'ei Yisrael lo yipardu me'al tzon maritam (Jewish leaders and spiritual shepherds never separate—even after their passing—from their flock whom they led and nourished).

Since this year, the day of hilulah falls on Shabbos Shirah, Parshas Beshalach—a sichah (talk) is enclosed: a story from the Baal HaHilulah about this. I hope that you will find suitable explanations and words to clearly convey to all assembled the intent (kavanah) of this talk. This too will surely help strengthen and expand your work in every respect. May Hashem help that it be with success.
