במענה על מכתבו - מבלי הוראת זמן הכתיבה - בו שואל אם לעשות תנאים או קנין.
והנה אין בזה נפק"מ כ"כ, וישאל למנהג אנ"ש במקומו עתה בזמן האחרון וכן יעשה, אבל מה שכן נוגע הוא קביעות זמן החתונה בשעה טובה ומוצלחת, ובתור הכנה לזה אשר המיול"ח[1] יתחיל בהקדם האפשרי לקיים בפועל קבלת עול תורה כמו שאמרתי לו והפועל בזה הוא הוספה בקב"ע בפו"מ וכבר ידוע דעתי בכגון דא שאין להאריך בהזמן שבין התדברות הצדדים והחתונה.
ויהי רצון מהשי"ת שיהיו קשוה"ת והחתונה לאח"ז בשעה טובה ומוצלחת ולבנין בית חסידותי מאושר בגו"ר.

In response to your letter—without indication of when it was written—in which you ask whether to make tena'im or a kinyan: there is not much practical difference in this matter. He should inquire about the current custom of Anash in his locale and follow that practice. What is truly important is setting the wedding date at an auspicious and successful time. As preparation for this, the mi'ulach (the one destined to be his father-in-law) should begin as soon as possible to actually accept the yoke of Torah as I have told him; this is accomplished by increasing fixed times for Torah study in actual practice. My opinion on such matters is already known: one should not prolong the period between the agreement of both sides and the wedding.
May it be G‑d's will that there be a kosher and successful wedding at an auspicious time, leading to the building of a happy Chassidic home with good news.
