Shalom u'Vrachah!

In response to your letter from the second day of Chanukah, in which you write about P.B.B. who is suffering from involuntary emissions, etc. In the vast majority of cases this depends on general weakness of health (which also includes the nerves), so it is necessary to strengthen general health and to strengthen the nerves. For the latter, distraction is very helpful, as well as serving Hashem with joy. As explained in many places—including at the end of Rambam's Laws of Lulav and Laws of De'os, and in Tur Shulchan Aruch section 231—the matter of 'Bechol Derachecha Da'eihu' ('In all your ways know Him'), it is understood that there must be joy in all your ways as well. May it be G‑d's will that just as you were the messenger to bring the question, you will also bring good news about improvement in the situation.

With blessing,

In the name of the Rebbe Shlita

Secretary

Summary

The Rebbe teaches that strengthening both general health and nerves—especially through distraction and serving Hashem with joy—can help overcome difficulties. Joy should permeate all aspects of life, and sharing good news is encouraged.
