I received your letter pleasantly, along with the enclosed results of your visit to Chabad educational institutions and your impressions of Chabad matters in Eretz HaKodesh in general. My strong hope is that you will continue to write in the future as well, with the necessary detail and without embellishment or omission, since this concerns practical action and affects many people.

It is also apparent that through your activities until now several details have been corrected, even though beginnings are difficult. From this it is understood that in the future it will be easier—provided all those connected with this join together and work with a unified intention to broaden and develop these matters both quantitatively and qualitatively, according to the desire of our Nasi, my father-in-law the Rebbe zatzal. The merit is great for each person who strives in this matter, especially those who have caused movement and attention even to neglected matters. This is clear.

I hope you continue your visits to Chabad institutions and remain involved in Chabad matters despite the unusual tactic of the yetzer hara which calls this period "vacation days." Unfortunately, even among some who are otherwise careful about G‑d's word all year long, there are those who say "vacation days are different," claiming there is no place for toil or effort now. They do not feel that this contradicts Torah, which teaches that man was created for labor; "If you did not toil and found [success], do not believe it; days were formed and not one among them [is extra]" (meaning not a single day or even hour is superfluous—they were allotted precisely as needed for a person to fulfill his inner mission as stated in the Mishnah: "I was created to serve my Maker"). But also not more than necessary; therefore every moment not utilized—even during these so-called vacation days—is an irretrievable loss: "empty days," as the Zohar puts it. The lengthiness on such an obvious matter is unnecessary.

In these days, emissaries who ascended from here as representatives of Anash will arrive in Eretz HaKodesh for several weeks. Surely it is unnecessary to remind you to meet them and, where possible, accompany them on their visits—the merit of the many will assist you.

I await good news with details regarding all of the above.
