מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו מה' שבט, ולפלא שמאז לא נתקבל ממנו כל ידיעות. ובמ"ש אודות אופן חינוך ילידיו שי' אם טוב יותר בתוככי ילדי עדות המזרח שעמהם מקורבים יותר, או טוב במוסד חרדי אף ששם הילדים ברובם מעדות האשכנזים.
והנה בטח נמצאים עתה חדרים חרדים ביותר של עדות המזרח, אבל אם בסביבתו ובקירוב מקום לדירותו אין נמצא הנ"ל, מובן שיר"ש קודמת לכל דבר, ובפרט שע"י דבור עם מורה מכתה בודאי יכול לסדר שלא ירגישו הילדים עצמם בודדים.
במ"ש אודות לימוד מלאכת סופר סת"ם, פתרון השאלה תלוי בכשרונו בזה, והבחינה היא ע"י מעשה בפועל, היינו שיתדבר עם מומחה בזה, וינסהו באופן המתאים, ובהתאם התוצאות יחליט, בזה.
במ"ש שע"י מצב פרנסה הדחוק, משלם החובות בזמנים ארוכים יותר מאשר שיער מראש.
ח"ו ליפול ברוחו עי"ז, כי בודאי אשר המלוה אינו מקפיד ואדרבה שבע רצון שמשלים באופן הכי נוח לפניו וע"ד מה שכתוב לא תהי' לו כנושה, ואין אתנו יודע עד מה בהדי כבשי דרחמנא, שהרי סוכ"ס מזמין השי"ת לאיש הישראלי לפרוע כל החובות שלו כיון שהיא מצוה, ולכאורה צריך עיון למה מתאחרת היכולת בזה, אבל כנ"ל אין לנו עסק בנסתרות, ומזוני לא בזכותא תליא מילתא אלא במזלא תליא מילתא.
בודאי ינצלו ימי הפסח עם התלמידים-ות כדבעי ועושים ג"כ הכנות הדרושות לניצול ימי הפסח הבע"ל ושלפניהם ושלאחריהם ויה"ר שיהי' בהצלחה.
לפלא שאינו מזכיר דבר ע"ד סידור אמו תחי' וכן מהנעשה עם שאר בני המשפחה, ובטח ימלא בהזדמנות הבאה.

I acknowledge receipt of your letter from the 5th of Shevat, and it is surprising that since then no further news has been received from you.
Regarding what you wrote about the manner of educating your children—whether it is better among Sephardic children with whom they are more connected, or in a more religious institution even though most of the children there are Ashkenazim: Surely there now exist very religious schools for Sephardim as well. However, if in your area and near your residence such an institution does not exist, it is understood that fear of Heaven takes precedence over everything. Especially since by speaking with the class teacher, you can certainly arrange things so that your children will not feel isolated.
Regarding learning the craft of writing Sifrei Torah, Tefillin, and Mezuzot (sofer stam), the answer depends on his aptitude for this. The test is through actual practice—that is, he should speak with an expert in this field and try it in an appropriate way; based on the results he should decide.
Regarding what you wrote about your difficult financial situation and paying debts over a longer period than you originally estimated: G‑d forbid to become disheartened because of this. Surely the lender is not upset; on the contrary, he is satisfied that you are paying in the most convenient way for him. As it says: "Do not be to him as a creditor," and none of us knows what lies within the hidden ways of Divine Providence. In the end, Hashem arranges for every Jew to pay all his debts since it is a mitzvah. Seemingly one must consider why the ability to do so is delayed; but as above, we have no business with hidden matters. Livelihood does not depend on merit but rather on mazal (fortune).
Surely you will utilize Pesach properly with your students—both boys and girls—and also make all necessary preparations to take advantage of Pesach itself and the days before and after it. May it be G‑d's will that it be successful.
It is surprising that you do not mention anything about arranging matters for your mother (may she live), nor about what is happening with other family members; surely you will fill this in next time.
