I acknowledge receipt of the three detailed reports from the 7th, 13th, and 19th of Tevet. I am pleased that you are working to further connect the existing village with the new one, in line with what I previously wrote—that in my opinion you should strive with all your might to ensure this entire area is under your control. Certainly, every section should be utilized—whether for housing or planting and similar uses. It is also understood that this requires effort to increase the number of residents in the village; I have already raised this point several times and have written that in my view this affects both materially and spiritually—and that is enough said…

d) It is surprising that there is no mention of preparations for Yud Shevat (the day of the hilulah), but surely things are being done in practice. Perhaps it would be worthwhile to appoint some people responsible for such matters so they can prepare in advance, as is done regarding Purim and so on.

e) I have also heard that elsewhere such opportunities are used for livelihood by preparing a special place for selling drinks, various foods, etc., in addition to a place for publicizing and selling printed materials relevant to Anash. And if there were suitable lodging in the village—this too could serve as a source of income.

f) The main point here: The time has long come to view the village not just as a gathering place for a certain number of individuals and nothing more, but also as a community—a community that influences those outside it. Therefore it is necessary—and even essential—to provide communal needs also regarding its influence outward; meaning not only a synagogue but also a place for hospitality (Achilah-Shesiyah-Linah) for visitors, a place to provide information about Chabad and Anash both in Eretz HaKodesh (the Holy Land) and abroad, both present and past, etc., etc. There are many points here which will become clear upon brief reflection. Again I add—even though this is not my main point—that all this can be an honorable source of livelihood: both material and spiritual sustenance together.

With blessings for success and good news in all mentioned above.

In accordance with my above approach, I have written ^[1] to Yeshivat Tomchei Temimim in Lod that in my opinion it is correct—and especially so—that the central building of Tomchei Temimim which must be built should be established in Kefar Chabad. But obviously, to make this possible the village must allocate sufficient space—spacious and suitably located—for this purpose.

Summary

The Rebbe teaches that every effort should be made to integrate all available land into Kefar Chabad for housing and agriculture. He stresses developing communal infrastructure and using these efforts as opportunities for both material and spiritual growth.
