Greetings and blessing!
In reply to your letter of the 4th of MarCheshvan, with a pidyon nefesh (request for blessing) concerning Mrs. ..., may she live: the mezuzos in her home should be checked, so that all of them are kosher according to halachah; before going to sleep she should say at least the first paragraph of the Shema; in the morning on weekdays she should set aside a few francs for tzedakah; and she should put entirely out of her mind idle thoughts about demons, Heaven forbid, and the like. For it has already been said, הנה לא ינום ולא יישן שומר ישראל, "Behold, the Guardian of Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps" (Tehillim 121:4); and it is said, באברתו יסך לך כו', "With His pinion He will cover you…" (Tehillim 91:4); לא תירא מפחד לילה כו', "You shall not fear the terror of the night…" (Tehillim 91:5); יקראני ואענהו וגו', "He will call upon Me and I will answer him…" (Tehillim 91:15).
I will also mention ..., may he live, for livelihood, as you write. May it be His will that you, who write about him, will on your part increase your Torah study with fear of Heaven and your observance of the mitzvos with care and beauty, and that you merit to report good news in all the above.
With blessing,
In the name of the Rebbe shlita
