לאחרי שתיקתו הארוכה נתקבל מכתבו בו עורר על מה שכתבתי שלא מצאתי חבר לבעה"מ ספר אור השנים המונה הוצאת שז"ל במנין המצות, ותמה איך נעלם המפורש במס' נדה דף י"ג בשם תנא דבי רבי ישמעאל.
הנה פשיטא שלא יכול להתעלם מאמר רז"ל זה, כיון שהוא יסודו של בעל המחבר ספר אור השנים, ומציין אליו על אתר, ואני לא כתבתי שלא מצאתי יסוד לדבריו, אלא שלא מצאתי לו חבר שימנה הוצאת שז"ל במנין המצות, לא הרמב"ם ולא רס"ג ולא הרמב"ן וכו' - אף דפשיטא שכולם ידעו מהסוגיא דנדה הנ"ל, ולא עוד אלא שלדעת כמה ראשונים הוא דרבנן וכו', וראה ג"כ בס' המצות להצמח צדק מצות פו"ר שמזכיר רק בעל המחבר ס' אור השנים שימנה הנ"ל במנין המצות.
לפלא שלא אישר עד עתה קבלת מכתבי מענה על שאלתו בענין הנקודות וחשבונם ע"פ הזהר והקבלה.
כבקשתו אזכירו וב"ב שיחיו על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע והוא וכב"ב יכתבו ויחתמו לשנה טובה ומתוקה בגשמיות וברוחניות.

After your long silence, your letter was received in which you raised an issue about what I wrote—that I have not found anyone who agrees with the author of Or HaShanim, who counts emission as a mitzvah. You wondered how the explicit statement in tractate Niddah 13b in the name of Tanna d'bei Rabbi Yishmael could be overlooked.
It is obvious that this statement of our Sages could not have been overlooked, since it is the very foundation of the author of Or HaShanim's position, and he cites it directly. What I wrote was not that I did not find a source for his words, but rather that I did not find anyone else who counts emission as a mitzvah—not Rambam, nor Rav Saadia Gaon, nor Ramban, etc.—even though it is clear they all knew about the above-mentioned sugya in Niddah. Furthermore, according to several Rishonim it is considered Rabbinic law. See also Sefer HaMitzvos by tzt"z on the mitzvah of procreation (Pru Urvu), where he mentions only the author of Or HaShanim as counting this among the mitzvos.
It is surprising that until now you have not confirmed receipt of my letter answering your question regarding nekudot (vowel points) and their calculation according to Zohar and Kabbalah.
