Shalom u'Vrachah!
...In response to your notification about your wife's health situation: It should have been explained to her that each of us asks—and sometimes even demands—from Hashem, the Creator of all worlds, that He provide us with all our needs and even fulfill our desires without considering how deserving we are or how fitting it is that the Holy One, Who is not hinted at by any letter or mark and about Whom it is said 'El Mi Tedamioni VeEshveh Yomar Kadosh' ("To whom will you liken Me and I will be equal? says the Holy One"), should concern Himself with our needs. Not only that, but even in fulfilling our desires regarding matters that are trivial even in human eyes—we still ask and demand these things from Him. And Hashem in His gratuitous kindness fulfills the prayer.
And when together with this Hashem comes and asks us to do something—to draw close the heart of His only child (which refers to every Jew, son or daughter), who for various reasons does not know what is required of them in Torah and mitzvos—and Hashem says that for this purpose He created all the worlds so that a certain individual with the help of his wife will make Him a dwelling place in this world within the heart of a particular boy or girl; and for this purpose He leaves aside the higher and lower worlds, etc., as explained in Tanya in several chapters—it is obvious that not only must we fulfill Hashem's request completely, but we should do so with gladness and great joy over having merited that Hashem turned with this request specifically to a certain man or woman and gave them the ability to fulfill His desire. Moreover, He assures them material and spiritual good for themselves and their children.
If you reflect even briefly on all of the above, I see no room for any complaint or bitterness—on the contrary: only for great and tremendous joy...
Summary
The Rebbe teaches us to turn to Hashem for every need—even small ones—and reminds us that just as Hashem graciously fulfills our requests, we should joyfully embrace His mission to inspire others in Torah and mitzvos. This brings blessings both materially and spiritually.
