במענה על מכתבו מודיע אודות מצב בריאותו אשר אינו כדבעי, ולפ"ד דעת בני אדם, הנה אינו מתאים לעבודתו בנסיעות להגדיל תורה ולהאדירה, ולכן מבקש שיקילו עליו בהנוגע לנסיעות.
והנה כבר הורגלתי בבקשות שונות ומשונות, אבל לא שיערתי שיכתוב סיום בקשה בנוסח הנ"ל. והגע עצמך, לפ"ד בריאותו אינו כדבעי, ולכן קשה עבודתו עליו לפי סברתו, לכן מבקש לא הטבת מצב בהבריאות אלא להקל עליו מעבודתו, היפך השכל דנפה"א, היפך השכל דנפש השכלית וכו'. והנה ידוע בפירוש הכתוב משביע לכל חי רצון, משביע לכל חי לפי רצונו ותאותו, היינו שהשי"ת בחסדו חסד חנם ממלא לא רק רצון אלא גם תאוה, אבל במה דברים אמורים שאין בזה היזק, ואף שבדיני אדם הרי בנוגע לעצמו פטור, אבל כיון שבדיני שמים אינו כן, הנה בקשתי מצדי היא שיוטב מצב הבריאות שלו עד שאפילו לפי דעתו וסברתו יוכל להמשיך בהצלחה עבודתו בקדש.
ומסיימים בטוב, במ"ש אשר נמלאה שנה לחתונת בנו שליט"א, הנה יה"ר מהשי"ת שביתם יהי' בית חסידותי אמיתי משם יפוצו חיות וחום חסידותי בהסביבה, וזה יוסיף בברכות השי"ת בהמצטרך להם בבני חיי ומזונא רוויחא.
בברכה לבריאות הנכונה ולבשו"ט בכל הנ"ל.

In response to your letter informing me about your health situation, which is not as it should be, and according to the opinion of people, it does not fit with your work of traveling to increase and glorify Torah. Therefore, you request that your travels be lessened. I have become accustomed to various requests, but I did not expect you would write such an ending to your request as above. Consider this: according to you, your health is not as it should be, so your work is difficult for you in your opinion; therefore you ask not for an improvement in health but rather for a reduction in your work—this is contrary to the logic of the animal soul and contrary to the logic of the intellectual soul, etc.
It is well known regarding the verse "Mashbia lechol chai ratzon" (He fulfills the desire of every living being), that He fulfills each one's will and even desire; meaning that Hashem in His kindness gratuitously fulfills not only will but also desire—however, this applies when there is no harm involved. Even though in human law regarding oneself one is exempt, since in Heavenly law it is not so, my request on my part is that your health should improve so that even according to your own view and reasoning you can successfully continue your sacred work.
We conclude with good: as it says that a year has passed since your son's wedding—may it be Hashem's will that their home be a true chassidic home from which chassidic vitality and warmth spread into their surroundings. This will add in Hashem's blessings for all their needs: children, life, and abundant sustenance.
Blessings for proper health and good news in all the above.
