After a long pause, I was pleased to receive your letter from Erev Shabbat Kodesh Mishpatim, in which you write that matters in the yeshiva are proceeding successfully. Certainly for someone like yourself it is unnecessary to point out and emphasize that since our Sages have already ruled: "If one says: 'I have not toiled but I have found,' do not believe him," it is understood logically that for something found relative to toil, success is not required; success comes to add manifold times over what is due according to the measure of toil.

May it be G‑d's will that this be in all three lines—mitzvos, Torah (with the preface of the blessing on Torah and as explained by Rabbeinu Yonah* and elaborated by Bach in Tur Orach Chaim siman 47 where this is essential), in service of prayer, and periodic contemplation on matters that bring to love and awe of the Giver of the Torah. As explained in Tanya at the end of chapter 41 as well as during the day, etc., just as with a get (the line of turning from evil) and a Sefer Torah (the line of doing good), etc., at every moment at least—see there. The merit of the many depends on your honor and your assistants, to guide the students on this path of life...
