איך בין צופרידן צו באקומען גריסן וועגן אייער אינטערעסירונג אין דער געהעריקער צוגרייטונג צו דער יערלעכער אונטערנעמונג פון דער ישיבה תומכי תמימים ליובאוויטש דעם קומענדיקן זונטאג כ"ב טבת. נאך מער בין איך צופרידן צו הערן, אז ניט קוקנדיק אויף דעם וואס איר זייט אזוי באשטאנען אז מען זאל אייך ניט געבן דעם פאסטן פון טשערמאן, באטייליקט איר זיך מיטן פולן הארצן און האפנטלעך אין א ניט-קלענערע מאס ווי אין די פריערדיקע יארן, ווארום דא האנדלט זיך וועגן אן ענין פון - מעלין בקודש.
בשעת מיר האבן זיך געטראפן אין פארלויף פון דעם יאר, האב איך אייך ניט געוואלט פרעגן, ווי האלט עס מיט דעם אויבערשטנס הבטחה פון עשר בשביל שתתעשר, אז געבן צדקה מאכט ניט נאר ניט ווייניקער אין דער קעשענע, נאר פארקערט, עס קומט נאך צו. איך בין זיכער אבער אז דער אויבערשטער, וואס האט געזאגט בחנוני נא בזאת (פרובירט מיר אויס אין דעם) האט אויסגעהאלטן די בחינה און מקיים געווען זיין הבטחה, במילא האט אייער ביישטייערונג צו דעם פאראיאריקן דינער פון דער ליובאוויטשער ישיבה געבראכט די געהעריקע מאס פון (עשר בשביל ש)תתעשר, אין גאר פשוטן זין פון עשירות כפשוטו.
איך האף אז אויך הייאר וועט איר ניט נאר אנהאלטן אייער סטאנדארד, נאר אויך מקיים זיין די אנווייזונג פון חכמינו ז"ל מעלין בקודש, און זיכער וועט השי"ת מקיים זיין, זיין הבטחה פון עשר בשביל שתתעשר, אז די פארגרעסערטע ביישטייערונג זאל ברענגען א פארגרעסערונג אין תתעשר, אין געלט, און וואס נאך וויכטיקער איז, אין געזונט און הצלחה, פאר אייך און אייער פרוי מרים שתחי'.
ווי דער מנהג איז צו פארענדיקן מיט דער פרשת השבוע: ואלה שמות בני ישראל גו', וואס דער מדרש זאגט אויף דעם, בני ישראל ירדו ובני ישראל עלו, ד.ה. אז מצרים האט אויף זיי ניט געווירקט זיי אפצופרעמדן פון די עלטערן און זיידעס, אזוי זאל אויך יעדער איינער פון אונז האבן זיין טייל אין דער אונטערשטיצונג פון דער ישיבה, וואס שטארקט דעם פארבונד פון קינדער מיט עלטערן און זיידעס, אז עס זאל זיין א תמים, גאנצער פאלק, גוי תמים ואחד בארץ דורך תורה תמימה אחת והוי' אחד.

I am pleased to receive greetings about your interest in the proper preparation for the annual undertaking of the Yeshiva Tomchei Temimim Lubavitch this coming Sunday, the 22nd of Teves.
I am even more pleased to hear that despite your insistence on not being given the position of chairman, you are participating wholeheartedly and hopefully not to a lesser degree than in previous years—because here it is a matter of "ma'alin bakodesh" (ascending in holiness).
When we met during the year, I did not want to ask you how things stand with Hashem's promise of "Aser bishvil shetitasher" (tithe so that you may become wealthy), that giving tzedakah not only does not diminish one's pocket but on the contrary adds to it.
However, I am sure that Hashem—Who said "Bechanuni na bazos" (Test Me now with this)—has passed the test and fulfilled His promise. Therefore your contribution to last year's dinner for the Lubavitcher Yeshiva brought you the proper measure of (aser bishvil she)titasher—in a very literal sense of actual wealth.
I hope that this year too you will not only maintain your standard but also fulfill our Sages' instruction "ma'alin bakodesh," and surely Hashem will fulfill His promise of "aser bishvil shetitasher," so that your increased contribution will bring an increase in titasher—in money and even more importantly in health and success for you and your wife Miriam shetichyeh.
As is customary to conclude with the weekly Torah portion: "Ve'eleh Shemos Bnei Yisrael..." (These are the names of the Children of Israel...), about which the Midrash says: Bnei Yisrael went down and Bnei Yisrael came up; meaning Egypt did not affect them to separate them from their parents and grandparents. So too should each one of us have our part in supporting the Yeshiva—which strengthens the bond between children and their parents and grandparents—so there should be a Tamim (wholesome one), a complete nation, a wholesome and united people in the land through one complete Torah and one Hashem.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that giving tzedakah brings tangible blessings as promised by Hashem. By increasing our charity each year—especially for holy causes—we merit greater wealth, health, and spiritual connection across generations.
