במענה על מכתבו מכ"ז כסלו, בו כותב שהוא בגיל ששה עשר ולומד תורה ונפשו חשקה להמשיך בזה, אלא שאביו שי' יש אצלו סברא שיעתיק למדינה אחרת, שבמילא יפסיק או עכ"פ יחליש הוא את לימודו ותחת זה יעזור לאביו בפרנסה.
הנה צריך הי' להסביר לאביו שי' שהשי"ת הוא הזן ומפרנס לכל, וכמו שאומרים בברכת המזון שהיא מן התורה, ובמילא צריך לעשות כל השתדלות למלאות רצונו ית' שעל ידי זה תהי' תוספת ברכה בהפרנסה. ואחת ההשתדלות בזה היא העסק בתורתנו הק' תורת חיים, ולכן ככל שיוסיף בשקידה בלימוד התורה יוסיף השי"ת בפרנסה לאביו ובני ביתו שיחיו, ולכן אדרבה על אביו לסייעו בזה. והוא מצדו יעשה בזה ככל יכולתו הן בלימוד תורת הנגלה והן בלימוד החסידות, ויה"ר שיקוים בו פסק רז"ל יגעת ומצאת.
כיון שלאביו שי' יש פרנסה במקום שהוא נמצא עתה אינני מבין מפני מה רוצה להעתיק.

Shalom u'Vrachah!
In response to your letter from the 27th of Kislev, in which you write that you are sixteen years old and studying Torah, and your soul desires to continue this. However, your father has an idea to move to another country, which would cause you to stop or at least weaken your Torah study so you could help him with livelihood.
You should explain to your father that the Holy One, blessed be He, is the One Who sustains and provides for all, as we say in Birkat HaMazon (the Grace after Meals), which is from the Torah. Therefore, one must do everything possible to fulfill His will; through this there will be additional blessing in livelihood.
One of these efforts is engaging in our holy Torah, the Torah of life. The more you increase diligence in Torah study, the more Hashem will increase livelihood for your father and all the members of your household. Therefore, on the contrary—your father should assist you in this.
On your part, do everything you can both in studying Nigleh (the revealed aspects of Torah) and Chassidus. May it be G‑d's will that the teaching of our Sages be fulfilled for you: "You have labored and found." Since your father already has a livelihood where he currently lives, I do not understand why he wants to move.
