עס וואונדערט מיר וואס איר שרייבט ניט בפרטיות וועגען דער התועדות פון י"ט כסלו, מער ניט ווי דאס, אז מען האט דענסטמאל געזאמעלט די געלט וועלכע איר שיקט אין דעם בריף, און זיכער געדיינקט איר וואס מיר האבען גערעט מערערע מאל אז הקב"ה פאדערט לויט די הוראה פון בעל שם טוב אז מען זאל עם דינען בשמחה אפילו א גאנץ יאר און בפרט אין שמחה טעג ווי י"ט כסלו, חנוכה, איז די פאדערונג נאך פיל שטארקער, און אז השי"ת פאדערט דאס, גיט ער אויך כחות און מעגליכקייטען אז מען זאל קענען פירען זיך אזוי, און עס היינגט אפ נאר אין רצון עצמו, און דאס וואס איר שרייבט אז עס זיינען געווען ווייניג מענטשן, איז ערשטענס די גאנצע אידישע פאלק איז געווארען פון איין מענטשן, וכמו שכתוב אחד הי' אברהם, און דערנאך לאזט אויס דער פסוק וירש זרעו את הארץ, אידען און אידישקייט האלט זיך ניט אויף כמות (קוואנטיטעט), נאר עס איז נוגע דער פארבונד מיט הקב"ה וואס ער איז א כל יכול ובמילא קען יעדער איד אויפבויען א גאנצען געגענד, א גאנצע שטאט און א גאנצע מדינה, מען דארף נאר וויסען אז מעט גייט אין א שליחות פון הקב"ה, וואס זיין ווילען איז לעשות לו ית' דירה בתחתונים, און די ארבעט האט ער געגעבען אידען כו', ווי ס'ווערט ערקלערט בארוכה בתניא ובפרט בפרק ל"ז.
איך האף אז עס פעלט נאר דער שרייבען צו מיר, אבער בפועל האט מען פארבראכט, אזוי וועט איר אויך טאן אין די פא[ס]ענדע טעג, וואס דאס איז שבת מברכים החדש, ראש חדש וכו' און לויט ווי איך האב אייך שוין געזאגט אז השי"ת זעהט אז מען איז בשמחה, מאכט דאס גרעסער און פארשטארקט די ענינים פון דעם מענטשן, אז ער זאל דאס זעהען אפילו מיט עיני בשר אז עס איז דא פון וואס צו פרייליך זיין, און השי"ת זאל אייך מצליח זיין צו אנזאגען בשורות טובות בכל הנ"ל, און זעלבסט פארשטענדליך צו בעאיינפלוסען אין דעם זין אויך אייער סביבה.

I was pleased to receive your letter from the fourth day of Chanukah, and enclosed here are the receipts as you wrote in your letter.
I am surprised that you did not write in detail about the farbrengen of Yud-Tes Kislev, except for mentioning that at that time you collected the money which you are sending in this letter. Surely you remember what we have spoken about many times: that the Holy One, blessed be He, demands—according to the teaching of the Baal Shem Tov—that one should serve Him with joy throughout the entire year, and especially on joyous days like Yud-Tes Kislev and Chanukah. On such days, this demand is even stronger. And since Hashem demands this, He also gives the strength and ability to act accordingly; it depends only on one's own will.
As for what you write—that there were few people present—firstly, the entire Jewish people began from one person, as it is written: "Echad hayah Avraham" (Abraham was one), and then the verse continues: "Vayirash zar'o es ha'aretz" (and his descendants inherited the land). Judaism and Jewishness do not depend on quantity but rather on the bond with Hashem Who is omnipotent; therefore every Jew can build an entire region, an entire city, or even an entire country. One must only know that he is on a mission from Hashem, Whose will is to make for Him a dwelling place in the lower realms—and this work He has given to Jews, as explained at length in Tanya, especially in chapter 37.
I hope that it is only a matter of not writing to me about it, but in actuality you did farbreng; so too should you do in the coming days—which include Shabbos Mevarchim HaChodesh and Rosh Chodesh etc.—and as I have already told you: when Hashem sees that one is joyful, this increases and strengthens all matters for that person so he will see with his own eyes that there is reason to rejoice. May Hashem grant you success to report good news in all of the above—and naturally to influence your surroundings as well.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that true impact is not measured by numbers but by dedication and joy in serving G‑d. Even one person's efforts can transform an entire community when carried out with purpose and happiness.
