Chaim Shtayman

Chaim Shtayman was a supporter of the publication of the Rebbeim's works and of communal institutions, including in Winnipeg, and corresponded with the Rebbe in the 1950s. No reliable published biography is available; the summary below is drawn from the letters themselves.

Correspondence with the Rebbe

The Rebbe thanked him for his support of the printing of Chassidus and blessed him for it (IK 919, 931), wrote about the printing of Sefer HaSichos made possible with his support (IK 1202) and its delays, together with the expansion of the yeshivos (IK 1497), and blessed him for his charity (IK 882). Other letters encourage building a mikveh in Winnipeg amid community renovations (IK 3222), and advise not to be disappointed by a small turnout at an event (IK 3157).
