I hereby acknowledge receipt of your letter from the 19th of Elul, together with the lists of students as well as your pan from that date. Thank you very much for writing about the study arrangements, class divisions, etc.

It is certainly unnecessary to remind you of the ruling of our holy Torah, Torah of Life and Torah of Eternity, that one must always ascend in holiness. Surely you will not be satisfied with the current situation but will add to it both in quantity and quality—that is, in the number of students (male and female) as well as in the level of studies.

It is self-evident that in order to increase the number of students, there must also be an increase in teachers—again both in quantity and quality; meaning both in their Torah knowledge and mitzvah observance (quantity), and in the depth of their understanding and meticulousness in mitzvah observance (quality).

And since the Holy One blessed be He demands this from us, surely He has given us the strength for it; "lefum gamla shichna" (according to the camel is its load).

May Hashem grant us pure awe of Heaven according to one's own soul; through this there will be an increase in mitzvos generally and especially in matters of education—the success granted by Hashem.

Toward the new year coming upon us and all Israel for good: may you be inscribed and sealed for a good and sweet year. May Hashem arrange your proper match before you—both materially and spiritually together.

The Rebbe teaches that we must never settle for our current achievements but should always strive to increase both quality and quantity—in students, teachers, knowledge, and mitzvah observance—trusting that G‑d provides us with all necessary strength for success.
