After the break, it was pleasant for me to receive your letter from the 2nd of Va'eschanan, which reached me with some delay. Most importantly, its beginning was engraved in my memory: what you heard decades ago from my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal nbg"m zya"a, that your ancestors are descended from Reb Pinchas of Koretz, one of the founders of Chasidut, and from the Slavita brothers—printers and disseminators of Chasidic books who suffered for Chasidut. From this it is clear according to the Mishnah (Eduyot 2:9) that a parent merits a child (and in the commentaries there: because it is natural for a child to resemble his parent), etc., and in wisdom (this is logical reasoning—the Ra'avad of Bartinura). And this Mishnah is both a statement about reality and a legal ruling—especially regarding a firstborn son.

Since you do not mention anything about your health, this is surely a sign that all is well and peaceful. As for what you mention about the Sefer Torah, I have already written to Reb P. Altahuz about this and surely you have discussed it together.
