הנה לכל לראש צריך לברר אם שומרת אשתו דיני טהרת המשפחה ומקוה כדרישת תורתנו הק' היינו במי מעיין או מי גשמים ולא במימי העיר הבאים ע"י כלי המודד וכו' וכן בהנוגע לשאר דינים אלו, גם יש לברר אם לא הי' בהשידוך שלהם איזה נגיעה בכבוד בת או בן בישראל, כן יש לבדוק התפילין של הבעל והמזוזות בביתם והשי"ת יצליחם שיבשרו טוב בכל הנ"ל ובמילא גם ממילוי משאלות לבבם לטובה בזרעא חייא וקיימא.

In response to your letter in which you write about Mr... shiyichyeh who, unfortunately—may it not happen to anyone in Israel—lost his sons.
First of all, it is necessary to clarify whether his wife observes the laws of family purity and uses a mikvah as required by our holy Torah—that is, with spring water or rainwater and not with city water that comes through a measuring vessel, etc. Similarly regarding other related laws. Also, it should be clarified whether there was any disrespect toward a daughter or son of Israel during their match. Likewise, the husband's tefillin and the mezuzos in their home should be checked.
