במענה על מכתבו מכ' תמוז, הנה נבהלתי לקרות בו ששמע חוות דעת יהודי המבין בחכמת היד שאמר לו שע"פ שראה בשרטוטי ידו הנה טרחתו בשידוכין כו' ושואל חוות דעתי בזה. ולפלא ולתמי' גדולה שאלתו בזה כיון שזהו היפך פסק תוה"ק תורת חיים ותורת עולם אשר רק על פי' יושק כל עניני העולם בכלל ובפרט והוא שכל אחד ואחד צריך להשתדל לישא אשה וכמבואר בש"ס ופוסקים ראשונים ואחרונים בפשיטות ויסיח דעתו לגמרי מכל האמור ואומר היפך השולחן ערוך כי התורה שולטת אפילו על המציאות ובפרט ויעשה בזה במרץ המתאים וכל הרוצה לטהר (שזהו נעשה ע"י הנהגה ע"פ התורה) מסייעין לו ומסייעין לשון רבים הן מלמעלה והן מלמטה הן למעלה מהטבע והן בטבע והשי"ת יצליחו לבשר טוב בזה מתוך שמחה.

In response to your letter from the 20th of Tammuz, I was shocked to read that you listened to the opinion of a Jew who is knowledgeable in palmistry and who told you that based on the lines of your hand, your efforts in matchmaking, etc., would be difficult—and you are asking my opinion about this.
Your question is astonishing and very surprising since this is contrary to the ruling of our holy Torah, the Torah of Life and Eternity, which states that all matters in the world—both general and specific—should be conducted solely according to its guidance. Specifically, everyone must strive to marry a woman, as explained clearly in the Talmud and by early and later authorities. You should completely dismiss everything mentioned above; it is contrary to Shulchan Aruch. The Torah rules even over reality itself. Therefore, act with appropriate energy in this matter. Whoever wishes to purify himself (which is accomplished by acting according to Torah) receives assistance—assistance in plural form—from Above and below, both beyond nature and within nature. May Hashem grant you success to share good news about this with joy.
