Shalom u'Vrachah!
I acknowledge receipt of your letter and report. Regarding the matter of the day—the day concluding and sealing after Shabbos of Parshas Matan Torah—whose beginning (of Torah) is gematria eight and its end is gematria eight—the third day of Parshas Mishpatim—whose beginning (of the parsha) is gematria eight and its end is gematria eight—may it be G‑d's will that in accordance with the command (which also gives strength): 'Ma'alin baKodesh' (one ascends in holiness), you should gather together, be inspired, consult with one another, accept good resolutions, and immediately begin to fulfill them practically and in action. In general—there should be a decision for great increase in all activities of the society (both for the poor and for the wealthy), and this should be done with great zeal; as our Sages say: 'Let him give immediately.'
Especially according to the explanation of Rabbeinu HaZaken that Avraham Avinu's wondrous zeal was to show his joy and desire to fulfill his Creator's will and bring satisfaction to his Maker; from him our Sages learned regarding fulfillment of all mitzvos in general, and especially the act of charity which surpasses them all by protecting and saving. May it be G‑d's will that just as this is so—measure for measure but many times over—it will hasten the fulfillment of the promise: 'Elokim leHatzileni Hashem leEzrati Chusha...' ('G‑d, save me; L‑rd, hasten to help me...')—to speed up the true and complete redemption through Moshiach Tzidkeinu, speedily in our days.
