14 Iyar, 5731.

Shalom u'Vrachah!

It is well known—the saying of our Sages, of blessed memory—that the dwelling should be in a Jewish neighborhood, among those who fear Heaven and observe Torah and mitzvos. Accordingly, one should establish their place of residence.

If the tefillin and mezuzos have not been checked within the past twelve months, they should be checked.

Summary

The Rebbe teaches that one should choose to live in a Jewish neighborhood among Torah-observant Jews, and reminds us to regularly check tefillin and mezuzos to ensure their proper status.
