. . . — Therefore — let them do so promptly. There is absolutely no reason to waste money on wedding expenses.
May they merit to show the way to the Avrechim of Anash sheyichyu – that a chassidic wedding means expansiveness in all spiritual matters and true expansiveness. The precious resources of the Jewish people should be used not to show others that here there were more physical flowers than at someone else's event and so forth, but rather that the chassan and kallah increased in charity before and during the wedding, and so on.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that true opulence at a chassidic wedding is measured by spiritual richness and acts of charity, not by extravagant material displays. Resources should be directed toward meaningful mitzvos rather than superficial competition.
