והי' מחנך קדוש

– "דיין מחנה (אין דער היים און אין דרויסן) זאָל זיין הייליג, ער (דער אויבערשטער) זאָל ניט זען באַ דיר קיין אויסגעלאַסענע זאַך און אָפּקערן זיך פון דיר" (תצא כג, טו).

חכמים דערקלערן דייטלעך, אַז צניעות און קדושה דאַרפן אָפּגעהיט ווערן אין אַלע ענינים, סיי בדיבור און על אחת כמה וכמה אין קליידונג און הנהגה.

Shalom u'Vrachah!
Regarding the fifteenth annual convention of Nshei U'Bnos Chabad — may Hashem grant them life — blessings and peace!
Based on the profound saying of the Alter Rebbe, founder of Chabad, that a Jew must live with the times — meaning with the weekly Torah portion in Torah, Toras Chaim, our guide (from "hora'ah") in daily life so that each day is enlivened by that week's portion — it is fitting to focus on the verses in this week's parsha during the convention. Here, the Divine blessings are enumerated as a reward for "Im Bechukosai Teileichu u'Mitzvosai Tishmoru" (if you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments). The highlight of these blessings is: "VeNasati Mishkani Besochchem... VeHisHalachti Besochchem VeHayisi Lachem LeElokim VeAtem Tihyu Li LeAm" (I will place My dwelling among you... I will walk among you and be your G‑d and you will be My people). Although this blessing is also connected to general observance of Torah and mitzvos as mentioned at the start of the parsha, through its conclusion it especially emphasizes the importance of kedushah (holiness), taharah (purity), and tznius (modesty), for these are foundations for G‑d's dwelling and Shechinah among Jews collectively and within every Jew — man and woman — individually.
This is also clearly emphasized elsewhere in Torah: "VeHayah Machanecha Kadosh... V'Lo Yireh Becha Ervas Davar V'Shav MeAcharecha" (Your camp [at home or outside] should be holy; He [the Almighty] should not see anything immodest among you and turn away from you) (Tetzaveh 23:15). Our Sages explain clearly that tznius and holiness must be maintained in all matters — both in speech and all the more so in dress and conduct.
It has been mentioned on various occasions that Jewish women and girls set the tone in certain areas of Jewish life, as can be seen tangibly. Especially so regarding tznius, as our Sages often state until it is said that a mother's modest conduct brings children their greatest nachas both materially and spiritually.
May Hashem help that this convention — whose main theme is tznius — should bring out in practice the true ideals of Jewish women and realize them in life, action, and speech connected with modest thoughts. And just as with all good deeds Chassidus demands they reach even outward (chutzah), we hope that both the voice — but mainly actions — from this convention will reach even distant circles who are still "outside," with the strongest influence coming from showing a living example.
The merit of many will surely help you and bring Hashem's assistance and success.
