והרי בודאי אשר הציווי לזכור פרשת ימים אלו הוא כדי שכל אחד ואחת, מתאים למעמדו ומצבו ומתאים להענינים דימי זכרון אלו, יתעורר ויתחזק בפעולות מסוג אלו שהיו בימים ההם בזמן הזה, ולהוסיף בהן – הלוך והוסיף ואור.

I acknowledge receipt of your letter, and may it be G‑d's will that you share good news in its content. Now is the time of Chanukah, a period of miracles and salvations both materially and spiritually—days marked by praise and thanksgiving. As our Sages say: "They too were included in that miracle," referring to the women and daughters of Israel.
Certainly, the commandment to remember these days is so that each person—according to their position and circumstances, and according to the themes of these commemorative days—should be inspired and strengthened in actions similar to those performed then, increasing ever more in light.
