Shalom u'Vrachah!
After a long break I received your letter from the 17th of Sivan, from Eretz HaKodesh may it be rebuilt and established. Regarding what you wrote that many expressed surprise that you did not meet with me before your departure from here—you can add my own surprise to this as well. However, our Sages said: "One does not cry over the past."
But there is also a present matter here: all Jews are friends—especially those who are also family—and particularly those who share an additional common point: concern for our youth in general and especially the youth in Eretz HaKodesh. Therefore, it must be emphasized that the lack of meeting before your departure should not affect any of this.
I read with interest at the end of your letter that you are in the midst of preparations to open a center for absorbing youth of this type. May it be G‑d's will—Who watches over each and every one with individual Divine Providence—and regarding Eretz HaKodesh as Scripture states: "A land which the eyes of Hashem your G‑d are always upon it from the beginning of the year until year's end"—that your endeavor will be blessed and succeed in reaching its true and inner goal: guiding such youth on the path ascending to Beit El so they will be worthy of the title given by our Torah of life to every Jew—"You are children to Hashem your G‑d," as explained by our Sages.
With honor and blessing for good news in all mentioned above, and please convey regards to your father along with my amazement that I have not heard from him for several months.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that even when meetings are missed, bonds—especially among family and those devoted to Jewish youth—must remain strong. He encourages continued dedication to guiding young people in Eretz Yisrael toward their true spiritual purpose.
