Shalom u'Vrachah!

After writing my letter to Mrs. Shiyor (may she live), it occurred to me that it would be worthwhile to send you a copy of the letter as well, since it will surely interest you, etc. However—when I reviewed the letter again (especially "what is written between the lines"), I saw that you should receive the body and main point of the letter (though obviously not its style, etc.), as is obvious and simple—regarding several matters and even concerning the general matter up to its "essence" (and essence does not change. Likewise—even "a part or portion" of it, as brought in many places in Chassidus where the Baal Shem Tov said: The essence—when you grasp part of it, you grasp all of it).

And the essence of Eretz Yisrael—its matters and those who stand at its head, and especially—the individual who stands at its head as a unique individual—as our Sages have informed us: Eretz—because she desired (the term ratzon also means desirable—as explained by the tzt"z) to fulfill the will of her Maker; Yisrael—because "Ki Sarita Im Elokim VaAnashim VaTuchal" (for you have struggled with G‑d and with men and prevailed) (Bereishis 32:29). And indeed, the seal is in the word and concept—VaTuchal (and prevailed).

May it be His will that all this be with joy and gladness of heart.

With esteem, honor, and blessing,
M. Schneersohn

P.S.: As above, this is written based on the "freedom of speech (and writing)" you have granted me in several of your letters, primarily from the impression of Yud Shevat's yahrzeit and as a continuation to my letter from 11 Shevat.

Summary

The Rebbe teaches that Eretz Yisrael possesses an unchanging essence; connecting even to a part connects one to its entirety. This core should inspire us to approach our connection with joy and heartfelt positivity.
