Haraha"g vavac"h iy"a nu"n Rav Pe'alim Dov Yehuda
Shalom u'Vrachah!
After a pause, your letter from the 23rd of Shevat was received, in which you write about the matter of the synagogue. Although in general it is not my practice to intervene in such matters unless my opinion is explicitly sought, since I suspect that the background here is not entirely smooth—and more importantly, because the primary principle should be to increase synagogues that are pure and holy, especially in our times and in your community—therefore I am sharing my view accordingly: Even though temporarily it is appropriate and for several reasons that you remain in the synagogue you wrote about, regarding a permanent arrangement—based on the above—it would be better for you to establish your own synagogue. Even if its beginnings are modest, its end will surely flourish greatly; may it indeed flourish abundantly.
It is understood that a judge can only rule based on what his eyes see (Bava Basra 131a), and this matter is generally not one where my opinion must be strictly followed as stated above. However, on the other hand, I am not permitted to withhold what seems best for all those interested and involved—that it should be as described above. Even if it is impossible for the synagogue to be literally in your own home, you should strive for a synagogue that can be more independent than your current one.
And since we are approaching the month of Adar—whose highlight and midpoint are the days of Purim, when we send gifts to one another (Mishloach Manos Ish L'Rei'eihu), one of whose reasons is to bring all Jews closer together until true unity—it should be G‑d's will that this initiative begin immediately from Shabbos Mevarchim Chodesh Adar and continue increasing until "the moon is full in its completeness" at mid-month.
With honor and blessings for good news in all mentioned above and true nachas from your son about whom you wrote—among all who live long lives—together with your wife the Rebbetzin.
Summary
The Rebbe advises establishing an independent synagogue even if beginnings are small, emphasizing unity among Jews especially during Adar and Purim. He encourages taking action promptly and assures blessings for success and family harmony.
