במענה למכתבו מיום עשירי בשבט, יום הילולא של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר נשיא ישראל, עם הפ"נ שיקרא בעת רצון על הציון הק' של בעל ההילולא,
ובעמדנו בט"ו בשבט, ראש השנה לאילנות, והרי האדם עץ השדה, ובמיוחד - ת"ח -
יהי רצון שתתחדשנה כל הפעולות הצומחות מ(לימוד - שהוא המביא לידי מעשה - לימוד) עץ חיים היא תורתנו תורת חיים, ויבואו פירות טובים מאי פירות - מצות,
ומהתעוררות וכחות דיום ראש השנה זה - יומשך בכל ימות השנה הבע"ל.
והרי הוא גם יום דקיימא סיהרא באשלמותא.

Shalom u'Vrachah!
In response to your letter from the tenth of Shevat, the yahrzeit of my revered father-in-law, the leader of Israel, together with the pidyon nefesh to be read at an auspicious time at the holy resting place of the one whose yahrzeit it is. As we stand on Tu B'Shevat, Rosh Hashanah for trees—and "for man is a tree of the field," especially a Torah scholar—may it be G‑d's will that all activities growing from (study—which leads to action—study) of our Tree of Life, our Torah of life, be renewed. May good fruits come from these fruits—that is, mitzvos—and from the inspiration and strengths of this Rosh Hashanah day may blessing extend throughout the entire coming year. This day is also one when "the moon is full in its completeness."

Summary
The Rebbe teaches that just as trees renew and bear fruit on Tu B'Shevat, so too should we—especially those who study Torah—renew our actions so they yield mitzvos and positive outcomes throughout the year.
