ות"ח לכת"ר וחבריו שליט"א בעד השתתפות השנתית בעבודת ההצלה למען אחינו בני ישראל מעבר לים.
ברם לא אעלים בעתות כאלו שמצטער אני על שהעזר נפחת גם השתא, בה בשעה שכידוע העבודה הולכת ומתרחבת, ובפרט עתה בקשר עם פליטי אלג'יר וכו'.
ויהי רצון שחפץ ה' בידם יצליח להשיב מגבית קרן הצלה דשיקגו לאיתנה ולקיים הלכה כבית הילל מוסיף והולך, וזכות הרבים מסייעתם.
ולקראת חג השבועות, זמן מתן תורתנו, הבא עלינו ועל כל ישראל לטובה, הנני לאחל לכת"ר וחבריו שליט"א - בנוסח הברכה של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר - קבלת התורה בשמחה ובפנימיות ולהמשיך בכל השנה כולה.

I hereby acknowledge receipt of your letter from Friday, Iyar 6th, together with the donation to the Chicago Rescue Fund. Many thanks to you and your esteemed colleagues for your annual participation in the rescue work on behalf of our fellow Jews overseas.
However, I cannot conceal at such times that I am pained that the assistance has again decreased this year, even as it is well known that the work continues to expand—especially now in connection with Algerian refugees and so forth.
May it be G‑d's will that your efforts succeed in restoring the Chicago Rescue Fund campaign to its former strength and fulfill the halachah according to Beis Hillel: "increasing and going forward," and may the merit of the many support you all.
As we approach Shavuos—the time of the giving of our Torah—which is coming upon us and all Israel for good, I wish you and your esteemed colleagues (in the wording of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe): "Receiving the Torah with joy and inwardness," to continue throughout the entire year.

P.S. A catalog from our publications is being sent regarding your suggestion for the library of the Education Committee in your camp. Surely you will instruct those carrying out your wishes to indicate which books are missing or requested; they will be gladly sent for the benefit of many.
