ובגיל כשלו, לכל לראש התמדה ושקידה בלימוד התורה נגלה וחסידות וכמו שכתבתי לו מלפני זמן בכגון זה ואין לך דבר העומד בפני הרצון.

לפלא הקושיא, שהרי הפתגם הוא בנוגע לעניני תורה ומצות, היינו יראת שמים שאף שהכל בידי שמים, הר"ז חוץ מיראת שמים.

In response to your letter from the 29th of Tammuz.
At an auspicious time, all those you wrote about will be mentioned at the holy resting place of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe, of blessed memory, according to the content of your letter.
Certainly it is unnecessary to elaborate that the path and vessel for receiving the blessing of Hashem is conduct in daily life in accordance with the directives of our Torah, the Torah of life, and fulfillment of its mitzvos about which it is said "and you shall live by them." At your age, first and foremost is diligence and perseverance in studying Torah—both Nigleh and Chassidus—as I have previously written to you on such matters. There is nothing that stands before willpower.

P.S. Regarding your question about the saying of our Sages: "There is nothing that stands before will," yet our Sages also said: "Everything is in the hands of Heaven except fear of Heaven." It is surprising to ask this question since the saying refers to matters of Torah and mitzvos—that is, fear of Heaven—even though everything is in the hands of Heaven, this excludes fear of Heaven.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that true blessing comes through living each day according to Torah and mitzvos. Diligence in both revealed and inner dimensions of Torah opens channels for blessing. The power of will applies especially to spiritual growth and observance.
