שמחתי להוודע מועד כפר חב"ד על דבר ביקורו בכפר, וכן נעמה לי הידיעה מבא כוחנו הרב בנימין שי' גורודצקי משיחתו את כ'. יחד עם הרושמים שנשארו אצלי מבקורו כאן הרי כל זה מצטרף לחשבון גדול לחזק בטחוני שאהדתו של כ' לכל שטח פעולותינו באה"ק ת"ו ולכפר חב"ד ביחוד, וכן בהנוגע לשאלות הכלליות שעמדנו עליהן בשיחתנו, הביאה ותוסיף להביא תוצאות ממשיות.
ומגלגלין בשורות טובות ליומא זכאה, שהידיעות הנ"ל הגיעוני בסמיכות לחג הגאולה יב-יג תמוז שהשנה היא שנת הל"ה לגאולתו של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר נבג"מ זי"ע ממאסרו, אשר כ' בטח יודע פרשת הימים ההם בזמן הזה. וככל ימי זכרון בחיי הכלל והפרט של היהודי תכליתם שיהיו נזכרים ונעשים, היינו שהזכרון יעורר את המעשה בפועל. והנקודה העקרית של חג גאולה זה היא - כמה גדול כוחו של יהודי אחד, אשר בהחלטה תקיפה ומסירות נפש אמתית לא רק שיכול הי' להחזיק מעמד נגד דיקטטורה ומשטר ענקי ועז, אלא גם ניצח במלחמתו מלחמת ה' ועם סגולתו, ולא רק נצחון אישי אלא גם נצחון כללי אשר תוצאותיו ניכרים בעליל. ואף על פי אשר מי הוא זה אשר נשאו לבו להידמות לכ"ק אדמו"ר [נבג"מ] ובכוח המס"נ שלו בפרט - אבל לאידך הרי גם התנאים במדינות החפשיות שאנו פועלים בהם קלים הם שלא בערך, והנמשל מובן מק"ו ומגזירה בלתי שוה. ויהי רצון שכל אחד ואחד מאתנו ימלא את תפקידו שהעמיסה עליו ההשגחה העליונה יחד עם הכוחות הדרושים לכך.

I was pleased to learn from the Moetzet Kfar Chabad about your visit to the village, and I also appreciated hearing from our representative Rabbi Binyamin Gorodetzki about his conversation with you. Together with the impressions I retained from your visit here, all this adds up to a strong assurance that your support for every area of our activities in Eretz Yisrael in general and Kfar Chabad in particular—as well as regarding the general issues we discussed—has brought and will continue to bring tangible results.
It is fitting that these good tidings reached me close to the Festival of Redemption, Yud-Beis–Yud-Gimmel Tammuz—the thirty-fifth anniversary this year of the liberation of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe (of blessed memory), from imprisonment. Surely you are familiar with the events of those days at this time of year.
As with all days of remembrance in both communal and personal Jewish life, their purpose is not only to be recalled but also enacted—that is, remembrance should inspire practical action. The main point of this festival is how great is the power of one Jew: through resolute determination and true self-sacrifice, not only could he withstand a mighty and oppressive regime but also triumph in his battle—the battle for G‑d and His chosen people—not just a personal victory but a general one whose effects are clearly evident.
Although none among us would presume to compare himself to my revered father-in-law or his level of self-sacrifice in particular, on the other hand, the conditions in free countries where we operate are incomparably easier; thus, the lesson is clear both by analogy and even more so by contrast.
May it be G‑d's will that each one of us fulfills his mission assigned by Divine Providence along with all necessary strengths for this task.
