איך האב מיט פארגעניגען באקומען די ידיעה פון הרב וו"ח אי"א עוסק בצרכי ציבור וכו' מוה"ר...אז איר האט זיך אונטערגענומען בייצושטייערן די סומע פון 1000$ פאר אזא וויכטיקן צוועק ווי שיקן געוויסע פעקלעך צו אונזערע ברידער אין געוויסע לענדער, וואו אידיש לעבן איז באזונדערס שווער, ווי הרב... האט אייך זיכער דערקלערט.
די מצוה פון צדקה איז שטענדיק גרויס, ווי אונזערע חכמים זכרונם לברכה זאגן, אז די מצוה פון צדקה וועגט וויפל אנדערע מצוות צוזאמען. קען מען פארשטיין, ווי גרויס עס איז אזא צדקה ווי די פאר וועלכע איר האט זיך בייגעשטייערט, וואס איז הצלת נפשות אין ניט נאר מאטעריעלען זין נאר אויך אין גייסטיקען זין.
אזוי ווי מיר האבן אקארשט געהאט דעם ליכטיקן יום-טוב חנוכה, ווען מען האט געצונדן די חנוכה-ליכט יעדע נאכט אין א גרעסערע צאל, זאל דער אויבערשטער העלפן, אז דער זכות פון דער גרויסער צדקה וואס איר האט בייגעשטייערט זאל אייך ביישטיין און אריינברענגען ליכטיקייט און פריילעכקייט און נחת אין אייער היים און אייער משפחה, אין א וואקסענדער מאס, איר זאלט אויך ווייטער קענען טאן צדקה און מעשים טובים אין א וואקסענדער מאס, מיט א פריילעכער הארץ און אין גוטען געזונד.
איך וועל אייך דערמאנען בתפילה, ווי אויך די אנדערע מיטגלידער פון דער משפחה, לויט די פרטים וועלכער הרב... האט מיר איבערגעגעבען, און איך האף צו הערען גוטע נייעס פון אייך שטענדיג.

I received with pleasure the news from Harav vavac"h iy"a who is involved in communal needs etc. Moreinu HaRav... that you have undertaken to contribute the sum of $1,000 for such an important purpose as sending certain packages to our brothers in certain countries where Jewish life is especially difficult, as Harav... surely explained to you.
The mitzvah of tzedakah is always great, as our Sages of blessed memory say that the mitzvah of tzedakah weighs as much as all other mitzvos combined. One can understand how great is such tzedakah as this, for which you have contributed—this is saving lives not only in a material sense but also spiritually.
Just as we have recently celebrated the luminous festival of Chanukah, when we lit the Chanukah lights each night in increasing number, may the Eibershter help that the merit of this great tzedakah to which you contributed will stand by you and bring light, joy, and nachas into your home and family in increasing measure. May you also continue to do tzedakah and good deeds ever more, with a joyful heart and in good health.
I will mention you in prayer, as well as the other members of your family according to the details that Harav... conveyed to me. I hope to always hear good news from you.
