In response to your letter from 12 Elul, in which you write about the recent Melaveh Malkah and regret that you were apparently affected by the small number of participants, etc. On the contrary, this is not a small number because, as you describe the manner of preparation for it, in its context this is considered a great many.

From this we can learn all the more so about the manner of success if the preparation had been done on time and in full. May it be G‑d's will that also here the saying of the Baal Shem Tov and his precise wording in "VeHayah Reishischa Mitz'ar (And your beginning will be small) [then] Acharischa Yisge Me'od (but your end will flourish greatly)" will be fulfilled. Although it is understood that the Baal Shem Tov's intention was regarding matters not dependent on choice—where beginnings are small—even so, in our case, a person's actions are not dependent on another's choice.

It would be appropriate for those who participated to receive from you and those involved in organizing the farbrengen a blessing for the year and similar things, so that no one can claim it was surely a one-time event or just about money and nothing more.

I was pleased by what you wrote about your activities in spreading Chassidus and its guidance [...] as well as that your wife and son assisted in this. May it be G‑d's will that [...] proper health and true joy [...] in such matters for long days and good years, and may Hashem fulfill all their heart's desires for good.
