Regarding your comment in your letter about the verse 'Re'u ki Hashem natan lachem haShabbat' ('See that the L‑rd has given you the Shabbat'), please also look in Likkutei Torah—at its beginning—the discourse on this verse. This discourse is especially significant (it was quoted in Hayom Yom Parshat Beshalach), and it includes teachings from the Baal Shem Tov, the Maggid of Mezritch, the Alter Rebbe, etc.
As for your note regarding the connection between 'seeing' and Shabbat in general: it is necessary to refer to what is known—that Shabbat and Yom Tov are Kodesh and Mikra Kodesh (holy convocations), Chochmah u'Binah (wisdom and understanding), and 'Who is wise?
