In response to your letter from the 28th of Nissan this year, I would like to point out that since the income from selling printed materials is necessary for publishing other works, we cannot distribute them for free. Only because we are compelled by circumstances for publicity purposes and similar reasons do we sometimes have to distribute at least part of the booklets sent to you for free, and since there are also other expenses involved, we are prepared to agree to a discount of twenty percent (20) off the set price. If you see a need to distribute more for free, it is necessary to immediately find donors who will provide fixed sums for this purpose of dissemination. However, on our part, we cannot waive more than twenty percent as mentioned above.

Without a doubt, even in the past you surely tried your utmost because lack of income from sales delays the printing of several works. We are prepared to send from the holy books etc., according to the number you indicate in response to this letter and under the above conditions. Please kindly confirm each time receipt of the packages by indicating their acknowledgment number.

The "Hayom Yom" booklet has surely reached you. I inquired about the "U'Maayan" booklet because I heard it was printed in Jerusalem before World War I and wanted clarification; if possible and easy, I would like to obtain a copy from that edition.

We are now publishing the first will of my revered father-in-law (the Rebbe), and a booklet "U'Maayan" with additions from my revered father-in-law. We are preparing for print: The Pesach talk from this year and notes from my revered father-in-law about details in the life of Admor HaZaken that are not yet known.

Perhaps it would be worthwhile to establish in your community a special committee for selling and distributing printed materials.
