Shalom u'Vrachah! [Before Chag HaShavuot] ...Regarding your writing about the desert—see Shir HaShirim Rabbah on the verse 3:6: 'Her ascent is from the desert,' etc. And in Likkutei Torah by the Alter Rebbe, discourse beginning 'Vayedaber... Bamidbar Sinai' (the second one).

Regarding your writing about the desert: One should make oneself like a desert, etc.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that true spiritual growth requires humility—making oneself like a desert, open and receptive to G‑dliness and Torah. This attitude allows one to ascend spiritually and receive higher levels of holiness.
