Shalom u'Vrachah!

... Regarding what you wrote about fasting on Tisha B'Av and Yom Kippur. It is understood that one must fast the entire day as commanded in our Torah, the Torah of Life. By reducing work on that day as much as possible—and mainly by being involved in matters that prevent thinking about the fast—one can fulfill this requirement. Additionally, as an extra measure, you should consult a doctor; there are pills that reduce appetite for many hours, perhaps even longer.

With blessings for good news in all the above.

Summary

The Rebbe teaches that fasting on Tisha B'Av and Yom Kippur is obligatory, but one should minimize exertion and seek practical solutions—such as medical advice—to help manage the fast when health is a concern.
